UMD Jazz Combo performs in CC Atrium — The series "Music in the Atrium" brought some fine performances to the Clinical Center over the Spring and Summer months in 2019. In June, the University of Maryland Jazz Combo played an array of standards, old and new, bringing a sense of the classic and the contemporary to a live jazz setting. Improvisation is a key component of the group's performances, which feature the music of Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter and many more. Faculty members, students and alumni make up the group and they have a ball performing this great music together. Musicians, left to right: Jon Ozment, piano, Gerry Kunkel, guitar, Timothy Powell, saxophone, Joey Antico, drums, John Previti, acoustic bass.
